Small boy lying in the sun

Small boy lying in the sun

No bucket or spade and no toy gun

Small boy lying in the sun

Small boy lying in the sun

No mother calling you

No brother chasing you for fun

Small boy lying in the sun

Small boy lying in the sand

No-one to hold you – hold your hand

Small boy lying in the sand

Small boy lying in the sand

Why are you here?

Why don’t you stand and run?

Small boy lying in the sand and sun

Blue shorts, red shirt

Tiny sandals on your tiny feet

Your hair is wet, your skin is chill

Small boy lying very still

Hold it! while we take a shot

Put it on every news broadcast slot

Small boy lying in the sun

Now the fairy tale is done.
