Fear is not all you have.

Tremblingly held

Between your trembling fingers

You hear the echoes

Of a call to life.

A voice along a corridor,

A laugh that splutters out

Amid the rot.

Here there is life

Even when laughter

Is impossible.

Even when your breath

Is shallow and

Your carcass wracked

There is hope.

And I remember your smile

All love shining through your eyes

When you realised

The end had come.

Your love for us

Your moment of reunion with Christ

Who called you.

The smile said I love you.

Be not afraid.

I am going where I must go.

I am reunited

Whole

I return

The circle is ended

It is complete.

I love.
