Between your trembling fingers

You hear the echoes

Of a call to life.

A laugh that splutters out

Amid the rot.

Is impossible.

Even when your breath

Is shallow and

Your carcass wracked

There is hope.

The smile said I love you.

Be not afraid.

I am going where I must go.

I am reunited

Whole

I return

The circle is ended

It is complete.

I love.
